We had some nice weather last weekend, though you really couldn't have told from this weeks rain and more rain. It was definitely a weekend where you had to get out there and enjoy it. My son has been taking some soccer classes and my daughter has also been showing interest in it so we decided to enjoy the great weather playing some soccer. We had a lot of fun and the kids love any chance they get to run around and just be! It was great.
But I wouldn't trade it for any other. I love the weekends. Even though I do most of my sessions during the weekends, the days are usually family days and I just love them. They are usually fairly busy between errands, kid activities, housework, and sessions but we usually make them ours. When my son saw my husband about to head out to go mow the yard, he was all about it. He wanted to go be with daddy and help him. it was seriously one of the cutest things to watch- even my daughter got up and watched them with me. I took just a couple pictures of the dual efforts and just wanted to share my two men.
We decided to check out Falls Lake/River a couple weekends ago, as we had yet to go there. It wasn't long after our arrival that I realized that I may have to consider this just Part 1 because the place is HUGE. So needless to say I wasn't able to get to come close to checking everything out. However, I will say what we were able to see was pretty neat. We first went in over off of Falls of Neuse near the "visitor center". We parked in an area that was near a wooden bridge/walkway. I love bridges for pictures, I really do - so anytime I see one I file it away in memory. We then headed over to the dam area- there were some ok spots. We continued to walk under a bridge where it became part of a path. There were some really pretty spots there that I am anxious to get back to and really explore and share with you all. I think there is a lot to offer at this location especially as you go forward on this path, so I definitely consider it a viable option for a location and I plan on visiting again really soon!
I did manage to take a couple pictures of the kids while we were briefly out there on the bridge! Stay tuned though as more will follow of Falls Lake/River as well as other locations in the area!
I can specifically remember when I took this shot this weekend that it captured the purest form of innocence. She is 3 1/2, she knows nothing of hate, she will play with anybody regardless of what they look like, she shares with others, and she is truly trusting. Her world problems consist of a rain storm preventing a day outside and an at times pesky brother. She has the world at her hands and can do anything she wants, be anybody she wants to be, and go anywhere she wants to. This is the age of believing in everything and knowing nothing- it's pretty precious to think that way isn't it. I have to hope that she can hold on to some of this and maybe that we can each get a little of it back.
